CBO: ESSER III funds exhausted; board told expenditures rose 6%

At a public hearing opening the board’s regular session Sept. 23, Chief School Business Official Janiece Blake reviewed the district’s fund balances and reported that the district has expended all ESSER III funds. Blake said operational services that had been covered by ESSER—such as transportation—will now return to the operating budget and that overall expenditures are up roughly 6% over the prior year.
Blake additionally reported that CPPRT revenues were down in FY24 and identified transportation for special education students as a current budget focus because those services are required for that student population. The public hearing ran from 7:04 PM until 7:25 PM with no public speakers recorded during that segment.
