The Carbondale Elementary School District No. 95 board voted unanimously Sept. 23 to adopt the Fiscal Year 2025 budget covering July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. The motion to adopt the budget was made by Stacye Saunders and seconded by Aimee Wigfall; roll call recorded yes votes from Field, Saunders, Greer, Roper, Wigfall, McHenry and Cawthon.
Chief School Business Official Janiece Blake had earlier told the board at a public hearing that the district has expended all of its ESSER III funds and that certain operational costs, including transportation for special education, will now be paid from the district’s operating funds. Blake also noted general expenditures are up about 6% compared with the previous year and that CPPRT revenues were down in FY24, a factor the district will monitor in implementing the approved budget.
The adopted budget document contains estimated amounts of revenues and expenditures for each fund for the fiscal year as required; board minutes state two copies of the budget were signed following the roll-call vote. No amendment to the budget was recorded at the meeting.
