The Board approved Amendment No. 6 to the employment contract of Superintendent Dr. Catherine Kawaguchi on Aug. 28, extending the contract term by one year to June 30, 2028 and clarifying annual step advancement on the superintendent compensation schedule. President Ken Chase said, "Accordingly, effective July 1, 2024, the Superintendent's salary will increase to $290,143, Range M199, Step E (5)." The motion passed by a 5-0 voice vote.
According to the public minutes, no other changes to fringe benefits were made. The amendment ties the superintendent's annual step advancement to the schedule used for non-management certificated employees, and staff will implement the payroll adjustment effective the stated date.
