Carbon Hill approves liquor licenses for Homecoming and Summer Band Series; hires Joliet American Legion Band for $1,250

The Village of Carbon Hill Board approved a local liquor license for the Village Homecoming event and a separate license for the Summer Band Series at the Feb. 4, 2025 meeting. Trustee Charlie Shain moved to approve the Homecoming license with Trustee Paul Opyd seconding; Trustee Nicole Shain moved to approve the Summer Band Series license with Trustee Charlie Shain seconding. Both motions carried 4–0.
The board also approved hiring the Joliet American Legion Band to play at the Homecoming parade and a follow-up Concert in the Park for a fee recorded in the minutes as $1,250. Trustee Nicole Shain moved the band contract; Trustee Paul Opyd seconded. The minutes do not include contract terms beyond the stated fee.
