Miss Pettit, the district finance lead, told trustees the district had collected $56,000,000 in tax revenue — a correction to a previously reported $38 million — with $17,000,000 collected in January alone. She said operating expenses through Jan. 31 totaled about $8,780,000 and the net change in fund balance was negative $3,700,000 after transfers to capital.
"We actually have collected, 56,000,000 from tax collections, not 38 as originally on the report last report submitted last week," Pettit said. On construction, she reported final numbers for the Rawfields project, noting architect and engineering fees and a $520,000 change‑order difference. "The total project cost came in at $11,250,000," she said.
Trustees pressed how the GMP was exceeded, who approved the change orders and why the board learned of some changes through newspaper coverage; Pettit said approvals were sometimes handled informally or via email prior to her arrival and offered to provide a contingency log and line‑item justifications from Thompson Turner.
