WEM Board adopts four updated policies, rescinds two older policies

The WEM Board of Education approved four policies on Feb. 23: 511 (Student Fundraising), 612.1 (Development of Parent and Family Engagement Policies for Title I), 615 (Testing Accommodations, Modifications, and Exemptions for IEPs, Section 504 Plans and LEP Students) and 619 (Staff Development for Standards). The motion to approve the four policies was made by Chair June Rezac and seconded by Troy Tolzman; six members voted in favor.
The board also acted to rescind two older policies: Policy 215 (Gratuity as an Allowable Expense, 2007 revision) and Policy 236 (Polling Places, 1995 revision). Minutes record that the rescission of Policy 215 was moved by Rezac and seconded by Michael, and the rescission of Policy 236 was moved by Schneider and seconded by Bakken; both motions passed by roll call vote. During the meeting the board held first readings of policies 205 (Open Meetings), 207 (Public Hearings), 401 (Equal Employment Opportunity) and 714 (Fund Balances).
