District records multiple resignations and approves three hires for 2026–27

During its May 11 meeting the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley School Board recorded several personnel departures and approved three staff assignments for the 2026–27 school year as part of the consent agenda. Resignations listed were Kim Konerza (Deaf & Hard of Hearing teacher), Kevin Voeller (Business teacher), Hanna Sorum (5th grade teacher) and Ben Tande (Assistant/JV Boys Basketball Coach). The consent agenda passed 7–0.
The board approved new hires and an internal transfer for next school year: Keenan Macki was approved as a 5th grade teacher at Step 6/BA; Desirae Phillips was approved as a 4th grade teacher at Step 1/BA; and Kayla Hanson was approved as an internal transfer to ECSE Teacher at Step 1/MA. These were approved as part of the consent agenda with a unanimous recorded vote.
