WEM Board approves revised 2025–26 budget, schedules work session on cuts

The WEM Board of Education voted Feb. 23 to approve a revised 2025–26 budget after a presentation from Business Manager Margaret Jewison. The motion to adopt the revised budget was made by Jay Schneider and seconded by Jeff Stangler; six members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Jewison presented the revised budget during the meeting (attachment referenced). Earlier in the meeting the board approved the Jan. 27–Feb. 23 financial report, which recorded bills and payroll totaling $985,371.62, deposits of $1,170,570.16 and transfers of $800,000; the report also shows a $16,772.42 payment to South Central Service Cooperative for pupil support services. The board scheduled a budget work session on Tuesday, March 10 to further review the budget and discuss possible cuts before the next formal action.
The approved revised budget was recorded in the minutes and will be available as an attachment to the meeting record. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
