Chief School Business Official Janiece Blake reported that witness tests for the district solar projects were completed on Aug. 5 and that the systems at Thomas and Lewis schools received permission to operate and were turned on Aug. 8. Blake said the project is considered closed out and final payment will be made soon.
Per information from GRP included in the board packet, Blake reported it typically takes about 90 days to begin receiving SRECs (solar renewable energy credits) and about 60 days to receive Ameren's rebate. The board did not record any votes specific to the solar closeout during the public portion beyond the business-official update.
