The Brookings-Harbor School District Board of Directors unanimously adopted Superintendent Helena Chirinian’s 2025–2026 evaluation on Feb. 25, following a short executive session and a public reading of the evaluation summary.
Board Chair Jay Trost read the evaluation aloud, stating that "the superintendent demonstrated adaptability and a willingness to step in wherever necessary to ensure that district operations remained strong and focused on students." The written evaluation credited Helena Chirinian with steady leadership during "significant and unexpected administrative transitions," constructive labor relations, strengthened financial oversight, and engagement at regional and state levels.
Alan Nidiffer moved to formally adopt the Superintendent’s 2025-2026 Evaluation, and Janece Payne seconded. There was no discussion; the roll call recorded Trish Walker, Alan Nidiffer, Janece Payne, Katherine Johnson and Jay Trost as voting "aye." The motion passed 5-0.
The evaluation text read into the record also called for continued visibility into instructional leadership indicators and progress reporting so the community can better see the impact of district efforts.
