Superintendent Helena Chirinian told the board the District Leadership Team has focused recent work on Senate Bill 141 and the development of growth-based accountability metrics. She said district administrators are actively engaged in budget development and weighing grant opportunities that carry restrictive requirements.
Chirinian outlined summer programming plans: Credit Recovery beginning June 18 at the high school and Extended School Year (ESY) services at Kalmiopsis Elementary for qualifying K–12 students. She reported enrollment data, including 39 kindergarten students currently registered and no Head Start waitlist this year, and noted continued longer-term decline trends consistent with the district’s projections.
