Brookings-Harbor wrestler Lexie Newman honored; urges more girls to join program

She said the victory was particularly meaningful because it came against an opponent she had lost to twice earlier in the season and added that she is "the first female wrestler at Brookings-Harbor to win a state championship in women’s wrestling." Newman used her remarks to advocate for growth in girls' participation, urging greater visibility and efforts to reduce fear of the sport so more students will "do the hard things."
