Board OKs strategic planning contract and allows senior class overnight trip pending fundraising

The Hill City School Board approved a motion to contract a company to lead the district’s strategic planning process. The motion, made by Jay Zapzalka and seconded by Sarah Kingsley, passed 5-0 with one absence. The motion authorizes administration to proceed with an external strategic planning firm; the board did not name a vendor in the public motion recorded in the minutes.

Separately, the board recorded a motion allowing a senior class overnight trip contingent on the senior class raising the necessary funds. That motion passed. The superintendent’s report noted the district is "waiting to hear back about the Lake Country Power grant" that could affect funding for future items and that the food service audit "went well with only a few things that need to be corrected."
