The Centennial School District Governing Board on June 17 unanimously adopted the district’s 2026-27 budget, appropriated funds and set the ad valorem tax levy.
Director of Business and Operations Paul Southerton presented the amended total budget of $177,513,722, including a General Fund of $104,856,962 and other funds totaling $72,656,760. He also reported a proposed general fund permanent tax rate of $4.7448 per $1,000 of assessed value and a proposed tax levy of $4,727,138 to cover bonded general obligation debt payments.
Board discussion included questions about next steps and implementation; Director Jess Hardin read the resolution for the record and moved to adopt the budget, appropriate funds and levy ad valorem taxes. Director Melissa Standley seconded the motion, which passed by unanimous vote.
The adoption completes the statutory budget process for the district and authorizes district staff to implement the 2026-27 spending plan and levy collections as presented. District officials said they developed the proposal with input from the Centennial Budget Committee and community engagement sessions.
