The Creswell School Board voted unanimously May 13 to adopt the McGraw Hill social studies curriculum for Creswell High School (CHS) and Creswell Middle School (CMS). Board member Sarah Cox moved to adopt the recommended textbooks and materials; Mike Anderson seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Julie Johansen, CMS principal, and CMS teachers Kendra Anderson and Zach Anderson presented the CMS recommendation. CHS teachers Jesse Herren and Bill Martin presented a matching CHS recommendation; both groups specified McGraw Hill as the preferred curriculum. The board’s action implements the recommendation for CHS and CMS immediately for the 2026–27 instructional cycle.
Board members did not record extended debate in the minutes; the adoption was entered as an action item and approved without recorded dissent. The decision follows staff presentations and aligns CHS and CMS on the same publisher and scope of materials.
