The Cascade School District Board approved the Student Investment Account (SIA) grant agreement on Jan. 12 after Director of Education William Dyer reviewed planned outcomes and spending priorities.
Dyer told trustees the integrated plan pulls multiple state grants together under SIA and estimated the grant amount at "roughly $5,400,000." He outlined four primary outcome targets: 80% foundational reading by 2nd grade, 85% graduation rate targets, 80% math grade-level by 3rd grade, and 20% fewer high-risk behaviors and social/mental-health incidents.
Dyer said the responsibilities for managing the agreement rest with him, Principal Rasmussen and the finance office (Nick Drury). The board moved and approved the SIA grant agreement resolution by voice vote.
Staff will proceed with the strategies described in the integrated plan and return to the board with periodic reporting on progress toward the stated outcomes.
