The Sewer and Water Committee was asked to place Change Order No. 3 for the Highway 28 conductor‑casing project on the consent agenda after staff reported a small net increase to the contract.
"We're seeking authorization or, approval to, increase the contract amount at $40,878," said Phil Tapia, the construction manager, explaining the change order reflects final quantity balancing for paving, dewatering and rock removal compared with bid estimates. Tapia said the project is complete and the increase reconciles estimated quantities with as‑built numbers.
Committee members asked when the installed casing would be put into active use and whether other lines would be connected soon; staff said only one line is in service at Terrace at present and additional connections are expected further out. Committee members indicated support for placing the item on the consent calendar for the board meeting.
