Commission approves text amendment to allow off‑site mobile home sales in selected industrial area

Kyle Rogus of Land Development presented LDCT 2025‑12, an applicant‑initiated text amendment to allow retail home sales off‑site (mobile, manufactured or modular homes) in the industrial land use district for the Southeast Polk selected area plan. Rogus said staff finds the request compatible with the comprehensive plan and land development code and recommended approval.
An applicant representative confirmed availability to answer questions and no members of the public spoke for or against the amendment. Commissioner motion and roll call produced a unanimous vote in favor of recommending approval to the Board of County Commissioners, per the standard Level‑4 review process.
