The ISD 622 School Board on April 28 approved termination of the additional work assignments and extracurricular assignment portions of all teacher contracts, effective June 8, 2026. The motion carried in a recorded vote.
Separately, under Minnesota Statute 122A.40, Subdivision 5, the board moved to terminate and not renew a list of probationary teachers at the close of the 2025-2026 school year for 2026-2027. The minutes list the names and FTE for many staff members affected; sample entries include Allison Lonigro (Secondary, 1.00 FTE) and Alan Scholer (Secondary, 1.00 FTE). The record shows the board took formal action to non-renew these probationary contracts.
Why it matters: Termination of extracurricular assignments and nonrenewal of probationary contracts affect staffing, school programs and student services. The board cited statutory authority in taking the nonrenewal action.
What’s next: Affected staff will be reflected in personnel records and the administration will implement the contract changes and post-termination procedures required by statute.
