Board updates dress-and-grooming, independent-study and student technology policies

The Sulphur Springs Union School District Board adopted several policy updates intended to align district rules with recent California School Boards Association (CSBA) sample language and recent legislative changes.
Assistant Superintendent Jay Greenlinger presented updated language for Board Policy 4119.22 (Dress and Grooming for Classified employees), 4219.22 for certificated staff, and 4319.22 for management. Trustees approved all three dress-and-grooming policies by voice votes recorded as 5-0.
Dr. Greenlinger and staff also presented Administrative Regulation 6183 (Home and Hospital Instruction) with changes to improve tracking of home/hospital agreements; Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 6158 (Independent Study) updated to reflect recent legislative changes; and Board Policy 6163.4 governing Student Use of Technology. Dr. Greenlinger and Deputy Superintendent Joshua Randall explained the updates and the board approved each item by voice vote (5-0).
The Board also approved an update to Board Bylaw 9100 to reflect current organizational practice. These approvals were procedural and passed without recorded dissent.
