Student services reports thousands of nurse visits and expanded telehealth for next year

Student services staff provided a year‑end recap June 8, reporting a broad set of health and behavioral metrics handled by the district.
In the nurses department the presenter reported more than 15,000 medications administered, 5,872 diabetic monitorings, 861 tube feedings, 348 catheterizations, and about 2,500 mask screenings. The presenter also said 82 students received glasses after screenings and that the district recorded over 51,000 nurse clinic visits this year; staff said they plan to expand the district’s telehealth program to Draytonville next year.
Board members asked about nurse coverage and were told the district maintains float nurses and substitute nurses in high‑need schools; in extreme circumstances the lead nurse will provide coverage.
Trustees asked for the reported numbers to be circulated to the board; staff agreed to email the detailed metrics and attach them to the finance packet.
