Committee members discussed temporary banners, the desired stone base for pylon signs, and landscaping standards for the Route 22 corridor before taking the votes.
Committee member (S8) moved to approve the proposed building sign, noting the design and location: “I'll make a motion that we approve the proposed sign sign replacement on the building for Beacon Bank 144 Route 22.” The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; the board also voted to treat the pylon application as a Type 2 action so review could proceed under that classification. Staff said temporary banners had been installed by a different company and reminded the applicant that permits are usually required for banner changes.
Board members and staff agreed to follow the town's preferred plant list for any landscaping and to have the applicant submit a short landscape plan. Staff will coordinate sketches and contact details with the applicant and return to the board for any required follow-up or plan adjustments.
