Board appoints Ashley Tuomi to Budget Committee seat left open by Director Sedda

The board voted unanimously to appoint Ashley Tuomi to Position 5 on the Gresham-Barlow Budget Committee; the seat must be held by a District Equity Committee member and will fill the remainder of the term.
The Gresham-Barlow School District Board of Directors voted April 23 to appoint Ashley Tuomi to Position 5 on the district Budget Committee. Chair Blake Petersen explained the vacancy resulted when Director Erasto Sedda was appointed to the board and that state and local rules require Position 5 be filled by a member of the District Equity Committee (DEC). Petersen and the vice chair interviewed applicants and recommended Tuomi.
Kris Howatt moved to accept the recommendation; Heather Coleman-Cox seconded. MOTION 79 carried unanimously with a 6–0 vote and one absence recorded. The board noted Tuomi’s background in government and healthcare and said she is familiar with district budget challenges. Tuomi will serve the remainder of the Position 5 term on the Budget Committee.
