District to prioritize STEAM roles; K–8 and junior high elective schedules differ

On scheduling, junior high (7th/8th) students would have access to an 8th "bonus" period for music or orchestra, while K–8 sites would schedule music and electives within a standard seven-period day and offer three elective choices each semester based on student interest surveys. All 5th and 6th graders, including those at K–8 sites, will have one music class plus an ensemble elective.
