Board awards athletic training contract to Mt. Hood Chiropractic Clinic for two high schools

The board moved to award the contract for two GBSD licensed athletic trainers (one at each high school) to Mt. Hood Chiropractic Clinic in an amount not to exceed $200,000 per year (Motion 95). Trustees discussed whether the budgeted amounts are expected to be spent each year and whether contracting trainers provides insurance and emergency-response benefits to protect students during athletic activities; Dr. Deboy confirmed that trainers have responded to emergencies and provided preventative care that reduces repetitive-use injuries.
The motion carried unanimously.
