The Village of Swansea swore in new probationary police officers during the personnel portion of its Aug. 3 meeting. Mayor (S2) administered the oath while Deputy Chief (S3) introduced the recruits and invited family members to the front for the ceremony.
One recruit identified herself in the oath as "I am Lisa Daniel Sontag," and the mayor congratulated the new officers, saying, "Congratulations, officer." Deputy Chief (S3) told trustees the recruits will begin the academy in about two weeks and noted one comes to the department from O'Fallon EMS with EMT training. The board later recorded motions and roll-call votes to hire probationary police officers Caden Mormon and Alyssa Danielson as recommended by the personnel committee.
