Royse City ISD introduced two executive hires during the special work session. The superintendent announced Doctor Faith Ann Cheek as the district’s chief financial and operations officer, noting her 30 years in public education and background in finance leadership. "I am deeply honored by your selection and grateful for this incredible opportunity," Dr. Cheek told trustees and staff after she was introduced.
The superintendent also announced Doctor Shelly Garrett as the new chief of student services and strategic initiatives, outlining her experience in student services, safety and Texas Education Code Chapter 37 procedures. The superintendent said the district split the administrative services department into two units to improve campus support and that transition used existing vacancies rather than adding to the budget.
