Morrow County School Board holds executive session to evaluate superintendent

On Jan. 12, 2026, the Morrow County School District Board of Directors convened a work session at 5:30 p.m. at the North District Office/Zoom in Irrigon, Oregon. Chair Richard Cole called the meeting to order and the board entered an executive session at 5:32 p.m. under ORS 192.660(2)(i), the statutory exemption authorizing closed sessions for evaluation of the superintendent or other public officers.
During the executive session Superintendent Matt Combe shared his 2025–26 self-reflection document with the board and answered a few questions from board members. The minutes state the executive session concluded at 6:02 p.m., the work session reconvened and was adjourned the same day at 6:02 p.m. The public record does not show any formal vote or public decision resulting from the executive session. Minutes were submitted by Board Secretary Barbara Phillips and later approved on Feb. 9, 2026.
