District finalizes staff assignments and schedules May transition visits as reconfiguration continues

Superintendent Tim Crider told the board the district has finalized staff assignments for next academic year and notified affected employees. The district will distribute a Google Form to collect staff questions and ideas should additional openings occur before school starts.
Three board members toured North Bay Elementary to identify potential student-experience improvements, ranging from cleaning and painting to larger facility upgrades. Grade-level teams will meet this week to continue transition planning, and a May 21 student transition field trip is planned: kindergarten and first-grade students will visit Hillcrest while grades two through four will visit North Bay. Wayfinder will support culture-building activities, including creation of a student handprint banner to be displayed on the first day of school.
Board members received the update as part of ongoing reconfiguration planning; staff assignments and transition activities are underway with follow-up reporting to the board.
