Hillcrest Elementary’s STEAM Night, highlighted to the North Bend School District board March 5, drew more than 120 students and roughly 300 parents, siblings and extended family members.
Mr. Nichols told the board the event featured five hands-on stations: a planetarium, paper rocket engineering, a Mars Rover problem-solving simulation, screenless coding activities and constellation art. He thanked staff and volunteers for supporting a family-focused STEM engagement evening.
The district’s association representative, Eva Varga, later referenced the event during her remarks and thanked staff for coordinating the evening. The board received the report as an informational item; no board action was associated with the event.
