The Milton-Freewater Unified SD 7 Board approved a $20,000 grant to replace the district's aging baseball scoreboard. S3 said the district worked with the city and the Milton Freewater Area Foundation and recommended the board accept the funding to purchase a new scoreboard that shows each inning and inning-by-inning scoring. "we will be getting $20,000 for a new scoreboard sign," S3 said.
Board chair S2 called for the motion and the board approved the grant by voice vote. S3 said the city and district would meet to finalize plans and noted athletic director Rob Gomez had suggested adding individual signage for softball, soccer and baseball; the board agreed to pursue those additional sign options in consultation with students and community groups.
