Board hears about gym refinishes, concrete repairs and FFA barn upgrades

District operations staff reviewed a broad set of summer facilities projects undertaken across campuses. The board heard about resurfaced gym floors and locker-room access improvements, three large concrete repair projects at the high school to improve safety around entries and walkways, and HVAC maintenance and replacement work including a contracted preventive-maintenance program to diagnose and reduce long-term equipment costs.
Facilities staff also described technology and site-security work: updated cameras replacing older single-lens units, additional exterior lighting, and line-painting in several district lots. The FFA barn received trenched fiber and electrical upgrades so it will be wired for events; staff reported an October 15 deadline for interior outlets and lighting in advance of a November gathering. "We trenched in the water slash fiber line, and got that put into the barn," staff told the board, and members thanked the facilities crew for completing extensive summer work.
