Dr. Shelley Garrett summarized edits intended to improve accuracy and accessibility: updates to staff names and position titles, TASB-recommended changes, relocation of general bus-behavior expectations from the code to the handbook to improve document purpose separation, and removal of an outdated reference to corporal punishment to align local policy with current district practice. Garrett said the handbook revisions were presented as information only and a detailed table of revisions was included in the board book.
Administration recommended approval of the updated student code of conduct with the two revisions. The board moved and seconded the recommendation and approved the code of conduct by a unanimous vote (7–0).
Trustees thanked staff for completing the large document updates and noted the changes clarify operational expectations and statute-aligned policy content.
