Walker said "we had 173 infractions that were documented in the student information system" for the 2025–26 school year, clarifying that the count excludes informal conversations or warnings and reflects incidents entered into the system. He added roughly 130 incidents were at Royce City High School and about 40 were at the district's two middle schools combined.
Administrators reported anecdotal evidence that the updated policy helped reduce time staff spent investigating device-related incidents. Walker said the district's primary objective remains keeping students in class and minimizing lost instructional time; staff will continue to refine implementation and consistency across campuses.
The report was provided as an information item and trustees thanked staff for the data and implementation efforts ahead of the new school year.
