Richardson ISD and Lenox International honored for bike donation; staff and student recognitions

The Richardson ISD Board of Trustees opened its Nov. 7 meeting with recognitions for community partners, staff and students. Doctor Heller introduced representatives from Lenox International and described the company’s recent partnership with the nonprofit Wish for Wheels to assemble and donate 60 new bicycles and helmets to deserving students at Northridge Elementary.
"They recently partnered with Wish for Wheels, which is a nonprofit to assemble and donate 60 new bicycles and helmets to deserving students at Northridge Elementary," Doctor Heller said. Board members invited Lenox representatives Mary Ellen Monde, Trish Ward and Nikki Aronson to stand for a photo and thanked them for the donation.
The board also recognized Alejandra Issais, Richardson ISD’s director of library and information technology, who received the Outstanding Woman of Today Hearts of Service award from Altrusa International, Richardson Club. "Congratulations," Doctor Heller said as trustees invited Issais forward for a photo.
Separately, the board honored Owen Clark, a senior at Richardson High School and son of two district employees, for his volunteer coaching across several elementary-grade flag and tackle football seasons. Trustees praised the community partnerships and PTAs that support district programs during the recognitions portion.
The recognitions concluded before the board moved on to public comment and the regular agenda.
