Polk County commission adopts $3.4646 billion FY2025–26 budget

The Polk County Board of County Commissioners voted Sept. 15 to adopt the county's final budget for fiscal year 2025–26 at $3,464,631,333. Budget and Management Services Director Kristia Johnson presented the packet and recommended the board adopt a resolution to approve the final budget.
Johnson read the recommended totals: an overall county budget of $3,464,631,333; Polk County Parks MSTU $46,013,519; Polk County Library MSTU $12,074,224; Polk County Stormwater MSTU $14,370,652; and Polk County Rancho Benito MSTU $67,564. After a motion and second, the chair called for the vote; commissioners voiced "Aye" and the chair declared the motion carried.
Staff said the budget packet includes appropriations, revenues by cost center, the FY25–26 pay plan, position changes and a functional budget for the Sheriff's Office.
