District plans RFPs for replacement of asset management system and ERP work in 2025

Staff updated the committee on two major IT efforts: replacement of the district’s asset management/CMMS (currently ViewWorks) and parallel work to ready an enterprise resource planning (ERP) procurement.
"It's a fairly significant undertaking," a staff speaker said of replacing the asset management system, noting current software is "not able to keep up" with organizational needs and that implementation is resource intensive. Staff said the district is in discovery, will complete an RFP for both systems, and expects implementation work to occur in 2025, though timing could be staggered and both systems are unlikely to be implemented simultaneously.
The committee was told one efficiency goal is to have timecard and workorder data integrate gracefully with the ERP so field staff time feeds accounting accurately. Staff said they will return to the finance committee with a discovery report and budget recommendations ahead of any RFPs.
