Board approves second readings of multiple policies including nondiscrimination and attendance

The board conducted second readings and approved a package of policies at the March 11 meeting, covering topics from nondiscrimination and board conduct to sexual harassment procedures, compulsory attendance, supports for pregnant and parenting students, and the use of restraint or seclusion.
Superintendent Nieraeth reminded the board that these second-read items were presented at the prior meeting as first reads and asked if there were questions; there were none. Mr. Anderson moved to approve the policies listed under agenda item 7.2 as presented; Mrs. Allison seconded and the motion passed 4-0.
Separately, Ms. Nieraeth clarified in discussion that Administrative Regulations (ARs) are operational documents implemented by staff rather than policies adopted by the board, and she will continue to include ARs in packets for board information.
