Santiam Canyon board accepts clean financial audit with no deficiencies

The Santiam Canyon School Board unanimously accepted the district's fiscal-year financial audit during its March 11 meeting. Nicole Darcy of Pauly, Rogers and Co., P.C. presented the findings and confirmed auditors did not issue a management letter for the district.
"A management letter is issued when deficiencies are identified, and confirmed that none were found for Santiam," Darcy said during the presentation. Superintendent Krista Nieraeth recommended formal acceptance as a best practice and commended Business Office staff for their work supporting the audit.
Board member Mr. Anderson moved to accept the financial audit for the year ending June 30, 2025; Mr. Cole seconded, and the motion passed 4-0 with no discussion. The board's acceptance formally closes the audit review for the district and will be included in district records.
