Department of Ecology reports say Wilson Creek well capacity sufficient; council marks issue resolved

Council reviewed multiple Department of Ecology (DOE) reports of examination and related appeal materials concerning proposed changes to water-rights points of withdrawal. The DOE findings recorded to council state that the proposed change would not enlarge the subject water right, would not impair existing rights, that the existing and proposed points of withdrawal draw from the same source, that water is physically available at the new withdrawal point, and that approval would not be detrimental to the public interest.
The DOE well log review noted that Wilson Creek predominately relies on shallow wells (Well 2 and Well 3). The transcript records that Well 3 was tested at 1,100 gallons per minute with 14 feet of drawdown and that the well fully recovered after one minute; based on the testing, the report stated the shallow well could supply Wilson Creek with a population of about 183 people. Council cited the report conclusions and reached consensus to consider the matter resolved.
