Wilson Creek council appoints HaLee Walter to Position 5 after interviews

Councilmember Kellie Ribail moved, and Councilmember Karl Hinze seconded, a motion that was unanimously carried to appoint HaLee Walter to Council Position 5 during the April 15, 2026 meeting. The council had interviewed five candidates for the seat—James Herreid, Ryan Scheib, Wakie Ulman, HaLee Walter and Tessa Wright—earlier in the evening, with interviews having begun at 5:00 p.m. under the moderation of Clerk/Treasurer Kaci Anderson.
Mayor Pro Tem Scott Mortimer thanked all applicants for their time and interest and encouraged filing for upcoming elections. Anderson notified the council that the appointee will be sworn in at the next regular council meeting in May; the minutes record that the next meeting was later rescheduled to May 19, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
