Council asks code professionals to review Navar Street development, hears local maintenance concerns

Councilmembers raised several local infrastructure and event-management concerns at the Nov. 13 meeting. On a motion by Councilmember Scott Mortimer, seconded by Councilmember Raymond Kelby, the council voted to request that Northwest Code Professionals review the current development on Navar Street.
Mortimer also reported a hole in 6th Street east of the ball field and a broken casting cap at 4th and Navar Streets, saying the latter could be damaged by snow-plow activity; he asked that staff check whether the 6th Street segment was included in the town’s TIB grant applications. Councilmember Karl Hinze raised several logistical questions: he asked about go-kart races and whether payment had been received (Kaci Anderson confirmed that "payment for campers has not yet been received from race organizers" and said she would follow up), suggested the recycling center should be relocated to school-district property if it needs to move, and sought clarification on the wireless communications tower location. The council recorded these items under council concerns and directed staff follow-up where noted.
