Coach Ashley Moore requested permission for the Pacific High varsity volleyball team to attend a tournament in Oahu, Hawaii; administrators (Superintendent Aaron Miller, Principal DeAnna Williams and Ben Stallard) had approved the trip prior to the board meeting. The trip is five days and four nights, includes a historical immersion tour (WWII memorial site) and a cultural night.
Board member Angel Ashdown moved to approve the trip and Carol Hacherl seconded; the motion passed unanimously with Korinn Hockett, Carol Hacherl, Judy Miles, Angel Ashdown and Bob Brown voting in favor. The minutes record that insurance requirements had been met and that the team will begin fundraising; a 25% deposit will be due approximately six to eight weeks before the tournament.
