"You need to advertise to specific types of publications within 15 days" a staff member said, urging the commission to allow time between the advertised notice and any subsequent hearing. Commissioners agreed to schedule meetings and to coordinate dates so the city can meet state advertising requirements for the budget process.
The scheduling decision clarified deadlines the commission must meet to adopt a final budget before the fiscal-year cutoff and set an expectation of extra budget workshops in August if needed.
