After sustained public criticism about budget accuracy, a commissioner moved and the commission voted to require staff to provide an updated profit-and-loss detail report (covering October through the end of July) and an accurate budget-to-actual report. The motion called for both documents to be emailed to commissioners and posted on the city website by Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Carrie, the staff member who made the motion, said, "I make a motion. We have it done by Friday for an updated profit and loss detail report and a budget to actual report," and the motion was seconded and approved. Commissioners said the posting was necessary to ensure the public could review the figures ahead of upcoming budget hearings.
The commission asked that the reports include a month-by-month expense breakdown and highlighted that some budget line items currently show zeros despite recorded expenditures. The vote directs finance staff to deliver the files electronically to commissioners and make them publicly available on the city website.
