Several directors expressed support for Grazioli's leadership, citing the demands of overseeing one of Oregon's larger districts. Other directors said they supported the hire while raising concerns about public perception, budgetary constraints, declining enrollment and the potential for school closures, and stressed the Board's responsibility to be transparent stewards of taxpayer resources.
The Board approved the contract by roll-call vote: Johnsen (Yea), Caballero (Yea), LaNier McHenry (Yea), Spicer (Yea), Williams (Nay), Zbikowski (Yea) and Ferguson (Yea). The motion passed, 6 to 1. The meeting adjourned at 12:21 PM. The meeting record notes the minutes were approved by the Board on May 21, 2026.
