Warner Robins renames Wright Drive for late councilman Darren D. Lee

Warner Robins council members unanimously approved a resolution to rename Wright Drive in honor of the late councilman Darren D. Lee. Councilman Curtis read the resolution and invited Lee’s immediate family forward; council members described Lee as a mentor and community leader and recounted his civic service.
Curtis said the road renaming would recognize Lee’s service and ties to the church on that road, and he announced a personal pledge of $5,000 toward a scholarship fund some local organizations plan to establish in Lee’s memory. “Whereas Darren D. Lee served the city of Warner Robins for two separate terms on city council… the municipal roadway system… be amended to change the name Wright Drive to Darren D Lee Drive,” Curtis read. The motion carried unanimously.
