The amendment was described as a one‑time cost increase not to exceed $3,250,490, reflecting $2,889,324 for needed field construction and limited engineering support plus $361,166 for contingencies; staff said 75% of anticipated cost will be cash reimbursements and 25% will be impact fee credits available beginning Oct. 1, 2025.
The county manager framed the recommendation as consistent with the board’s transportation priorities: "I think consistent with the board's commitment to address transportation mobility issues where feasible and across all areas of Polk County, especially along Polk's Northeast roadway corridors," staff said. The board moved and approved the amendment by voice vote.
