Carbondale ESD 95 board approves multiple hires, accepts resignations and retirement notifications

The Carbondale Elementary School District No. 95 Board on Feb. 27 approved a package of personnel actions that included resignations, new hires for classified and certified staff, additions to the substitute list and retirement notifications.
Dr. Renada Greer moved to accept the resignations of three classified employees and to employ paraprofessionals and certified staff; Aimee Wigfall and Imani McHenry frequently served as second. The board accepted the resignations of Debbie Mighell (custodian, Carbondale Middle School, effective Jan. 30, 2025), Ariel Matyi (custodian, Lewis School, effective Jan. 31, 2025) and Lilith Simpson (instructional aide, Lewis School, effective Feb. 4, 2025). The motion carried on roll-call votes with all members voting yes.
The board approved paraprofessional hires (Estrella Xoxotla and Jeannie Ravenscraft), added JaShaun Murray to the classified substitute list, and approved custodial hires including Thomas Brame (Carbondale Middle School) and Steve Harper (Lewis School), all pending clear background checks. Certified hires for the 2025–26 school year approved included Jeffery Green (Social Science teacher), Brittany Schnicker (Kindergarten), Madison Piazza (3rd grade) and Kate Crombar (3rd grade). The board also approved special-assignments for coaches: Caleb Cobb (head boys track), Verissa Frierson (head girls track) and Brynn Rogers (assistant girls track).
Imani McHenry moved, seconded by Greer, to place Regina Pieron and Jeannie Stevens on the district retirement notification schedule, indicating both intend to retire at the end of the 2029–2030 school year. The motions were recorded and carried by roll-call votes.
