Spearman ISD approves 2026–27 salary schedules for teachers and classified staff

The Spearman Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 7-0 June 9 to approve the district's 2026–27 salary schedules for professional, support and auxiliary staff, entered into the record as Exhibit A. The motion to approve was made by Anne Marie Pearson and seconded by Rhett Renner.
Exhibit A, filed with the meeting materials, includes a teacher step schedule with a stated Master's degree stipend of $3,000 and a detailed step progression (steps 0–30 with incremental amounts), and multiple classified pay schedules (cafeteria, custodial, maintenance/transportation, paraprofessionals, secretaries and others). The record also includes sample hourly and annual rates and notes that uncertified teachers will be frozen at their current salary step until certification is achieved.
Board discussion requested additional review of the district stipend list before final additions or deletions; that item was tabled to the July meeting for further information from the superintendent and campus administrators. The salary schedule motion passed unanimously.
